Chongqing is a short, intense city stay rather than a full province. We use it as a bridge between Chengdu and the Yangtze: two nights in the centre, a guide who understands the hills, and enough time for hotpot, the old town and the river at night.

Day 01Arrive in Chongqing
Airport or rail transfer, Jiefangbei orientation and Hongya Cave after dark.
Day 02Old town & the river
Ciqi Kou old town, Three Gorges Museum, Yangtze cableway and a hotpot dinner.
Day 03Departure
Morning at Eling Park or the Great Hall of the People, then transfer to the station or airport.
